One the thing that persons in IT management today have had to grapple with is IT infrastructure. The role of technology in enabling business today cannot be over emphasized. Finally, a structured infrastructure management approach ensures ease in attaining and monitoring institutional compliance. Having a laid down set of policies and procedures that govern the management of infrastructure can provide a much needed framework for the IT management to conduct periodic self assessment of performance while also evidencing the same to parties mandated to undertake such checks. These parties could include internal auditors, internal quality assurance teams, external auditors and industry regulators where applicable.
