3. Technical design specifications
The design phase translates the functional requirements into detailed technical specifications for the physical implementation, covering:

- data structure definition
- forms and reports design
- information flows and controls design
- user profiles definition
- programming specifications for interfaces with other systems
4. Application development
The implementation phase involves:
- translating the design specifications into the production system
- programming of interfaces
- system testing
5. Implementation and training
The client deployment phase involves:
- user training
- software installation
- user testing and hand holding
