Background:  A large engineering and construction company with a huge stock of equipment, ranging from hand tools to cranes, rents its equipment both internally to its own sites and projects, and externally to outside clients. Rental contracts, inspection certificates, maintenance and cost tracking were all handled in separate systems.

We need to know where the assets are located, their availability for rental and when they could be scheduled for delivery or pickup.
